NOT JUST ANOTHER DEVELOPER.
Here comes Florante Pascual again. After spending most of my professional life in Dubai UAE and Saudi Arabia, I share my wealth of experience with the Canadian market. Interesting days ahead … there has never been a better time to be a web developer.
I build integrated systems using modern web technologies primarily in GCP and Azure with Angular and NodeJS as tools of choice. My experience in old-school RDBMS client-server development has given me domain knowledge in Accounting, Inventory, Purchasing, Order Processing and Payables/Receivables systems.
Leveraging today’s modern (and exciting) cloud technologies, I now focus on JavaScript both front-end and back-end with real-time databases. Over the last few years, I reinvented my self in the areas of Digital Marketing, Data Analytics, Web API integration and Cloud Architecture.
Work aside, I am a husband and a father to 3 children. I like history, math and apologetics (yes, I am boring). I also love cooking, especially seafood — as I should — after all, we have 7,000+ islands in the Philippines.

My skill set covers a good spectrum of development from design to coding and deployment. IT operation skills range from old-school server farms to modern cloud infrastructure and platforms. Digital Marketing and Big Data are the newest additions.
01. DEVELOPMENT.
Engineering degree with 10+ years experience in planning, architecture, data modelling, analysis/design, front-end and back-end development, version control, implementation and post-deployment support, including retooling and migration.
02. IT / DEVOPS.
Highly functional database and network administrator in client-server environments. Familiar with Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure. Deployed a mix-and-match of compute and storage options including VM, serverless and NoSQL real-time databases.
03. DIGITAL.
This skill set is complementary to modern cloud technology. High proficiency in Google Marketing Platform and Facebook Business including API integration and Analytics with Big Data.
Skills.
ART OF THE SCIENCE.
Knowledge of a certain skill is one thing. Knowing how to utilize it from an engineering perspective is another. The science evolves into an art as a result of years having an engineering mindset.
THE LEARNING JOURNEY.
I am a graduate of Electronics and Communications Engineering at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, and also graduated #2 in the Philippine Army 2nd Lieutenant course. I attribute my technical and leadership skills in the private sector on account of these two foundations.
